DEPARTMENT OF ORGANISATION DEVELOPMENT

The appointee will manage all duties related to office administration, including managing budgets and requisitions, monitoring office assets/inventory, providing timely reports to management, as well as providing secretarial support at meetings, which includes minute taking. As the office organises key corporate events for SP, the appointee will help organize the events and provide logistics support. He/she will also be responsible for the smooth functioning of the office.

The position calls for a person who is positive, resourceful, meticulous, results-oriented, and is prepared to be hands-on. He/she must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and thrive under pressure. Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of software (Excel, Word and Power-point), or the equivalent software in the Mac environment, is required. Proficiency in design software such as Photoshop will be an asset.

The Alumni Relations Office (ARO) fosters strong bond between alumni and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) through meaningful programs, services and communications, and provides rewarding opportunities for alumni to contribute to SP's vision to be a leading institution.

The appointee will prepare and develop publications, e-newsletters, Web, Facebook and Linkedin content. He/she has to leverage on social media tools to extend SP’s reach and content in building a vibrant online alumni community.

Assembly & Field Service Engineer, Senior Engineer [30000653]
FOOD INNOVATION AND RESOURCE CENTRE

The appointees will be part of the engineering team in the food automation unit. The appointee will be expected to carry out assembly, trouble-shooting, installation and commissioning, and follow up services of customised automation equipment. He/she will work closely with the engineering team and project engineer to develop test procedures to facilitate equipment buy-off with customer. The appointee will also have to conduct document design reviews with engineering team and customer. The appointee is expected to take initiative in improvement of work processes on client’s site. He/she would provide technical support for pre/post sales activities and attend to customers’ complaints. He/she may be needed to conduct product demonstration and training for customers.

A Degree or Polytechnic Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electronic Engineering with relevant experience to carry out assembly, trouble-shooting, installation and commissioning of Automation machinery. The appointee will be part of the business development team and will be responsible for assisting the business development manager in gathering market intelligence and understand market trends in the food industry with regard to food equipment and processes; work closely with engineering team to provide quotation and follow up with customer, including negotiation, to secure business; identify, evaluate, develop and profile individual food company for business opportunities; and administering website, maintain suppliers’ and customers’ databases, and managing the day-to-day administrative duties.

Mechanical Design, Project, Senior Engineers [30000652]

The appointees will be part of the engineering team responsible for preparing cost efficient design deliverables, such as design specification & calculation, equipment selection and customization, facility requirement planning and all other documents and drawings as required by the project. The appointees are expected to perform detail part design and engineering documentation. He/she will assume the role of engineer-in-charge to liaise with customer on the product requirement & design and commissioning of the product in client’s facility. He/she is expected to pursuit of new design and idea to enhance the performance and competitiveness of the unit. The appointees have to ensure that design solution/consultancy is technically compliant with relevant food safety and legislation and that solution/equipment designed can be successfully implemented and handed over to the customer on schedule and within budget.

A Degree in Mechanical Design and/or Food Process Automation. The candidate should have solid experience in developing of conceptual design and doing drafting work for automation manufacturing application based projects. He/she should also possess experience to handle projects from concept generation through to completion and manage design changes during manufacturing stage. Candidates with good experience in streamline existing client’s manufacturing processes to be ready for automation manufacturing implementation and possess strong technical knowledge of industrial component specification and component sourcing would have added advantage.

For the senior engineering post, the candidate must be able to lead and guide junior engineers in the project group towards a workable design completion. He/she should demonstrate good understanding in gathering stakeholders’ requirements and handling of projects processes. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, have good interpersonal and good verbal & written communication skills, customer-service oriented and ability to work as a team yet work independently.
